Pylon Dedication Ceremony, April 2008

Members of the Corps of Cadets line up around the Pylons.

The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets conducted a
Pylon Dedication Ceremony on Friday, April 11, 2008, at the War Memorial on
Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus. The engravings of two additional veterans’
names on the Ut Prosim Pylon – Navy Lieutenant Nick Brantley, Virginia Tech
Coprs of Cadets class of 2001 and Army Staff Sergeant Jesse Clowers, Virginia
Tech class of 2003 – were dedicated.

The Pylons are a representation of Virginia Tech’s values. The values engraved
on the eight pylons are, (from left to right): Brotherhood, Honor, Leadership,
Sacrifice, Service, Loyalty, Duty, and Ut Prosim (That I May Serve).

Learn more about the ceremony in the related news article, “University to
