Undergraduate students learn about design for yachts from interior design alumna Amy Moses

Amy Moses, alumna and yacht designer, lectures an interior design class

Amy Moses, Virginia Tech Interior Design alumna of Chesapeake, Virginia, visits the campus to present her work on universally accessible yacht design to an undergraduate class of interior design students.

Moses interned at Donald L. Blount and Associates Inc. while pursuing her degree at Virginia Tech. After graduation, she went to work for the company. Moses discussed universal accessibility in yacht design and the marketing of innovations. She designed an accessible 150-foot concept yacht that takes into account items like wide passageways, appropriate turning space for wheelchairs, cabinet height, and potential tripping hazards.
